SAN DIEGO (September 25, 2017) — The Choral Consortium of San Diego announces the launch of Beer Choir San Diego, an informal group of singers of all skill levels that meets to drink beer and make music while supporting San Diego’s vibrant craft beer community. San Diego Beer Choir’s first meeting will be on Tuesday, October 24, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at ChuckAlek Biergarten, which is located at 3131 University Avenue, Suite B, San Diego, CA 92104 (Entrance on Herman Ave.) in North Park.
Choral Consortium President Carol Manifold said, “Singing in a group is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. Studies show it has social, mental, emotional, and physical benefits. The Choral Consortium of San Diego provides a number of programs for people with various skill levels, and we hope that Beer Choir San Diego entices people who may not currently sing in a choir to give it a try. We’re excited to launch Beer Choir San Diego at ChuckAlek Biergarten, which is not only singer-friendly but pet-friendly, so people can relax and have a good time.”
Beer Choir San Diego’s inaugural gathering will be led and accompanied by Ken Martin. Participants will receive the San Diego edition of the Beer Choir Hymnal, which includes popular and historical drinking songs, sea shanties, and military tunes. Tickets are $12 and include a printed copy of the Beer Choir Hymnal and a drink ticket. Purchase tickets at Beer Choir San Diego or at the door.
