Join us for a free concert honoring the beloved contemporary British composer, John Rutter, with a Special Guest conductor, Dr. Barry Williamson. This modern masterpiece, in seven sections, forms an arch-like meditation on the themes of life and death, with prayers on behalf of all humanity.
Dr. Williamson, conductor of the Texas Bach Festival, is a world renowned expert on music of the 18th century. We worked with Dr. Williamson last year as well, when he conducted a collaborative event uniting a group of select American choirs at Carnegie Hall, in a performance of Gabriel Faure’s Requiem. Dr. Williamson is a world renowned expert on music of the 18th century. Our own beloved choral director, Eunice Williams, will conduct several shorter Rutter songs, including a rousing audience favorite, When The Saints Go Marching In. As always, we will be accompanied by an ensemble of professional musicians, our long-time associates.
