The San Diego Master Chorale makes its 2019-20 debut with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, presenting an abridged musical performance of William Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” with a stellar cast of actors and the magical score of German composer Felix Mendelssohn.
The concert also includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 and Mediodía en el llano (Midday on the Plains) by Antonio Estévez from Venezuela, homeland of San Diego Symphony Music Director and concert conductor Rafael Payare.
(Pianist Vikingur Ólafsson has requested to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in place of the previously announced Schumann Piano Concerto. Thank you for your kind understanding of this program change.)
Please join us 45 minutes before the concert for “What’s the Score?”, a lively talk about the composers and the repertoire given by commentator Nuvi Mehta from the stage of Copley Symphony Hall.
